As you are reading this, organizations and volunteers are hard at work, planning the 13th annual Five Seasons Stand Down and Resource Fair for the homeless and near-homeless. The date for the 2018 event is Friday, September 7, 2018 .
Linn County Veteran Affairs, in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Metro Area Veterans Council, the Iowa City VA Medical Center, and the Linn County Continuum of Care will hold the 13th Annual Five Seasons Stand Down at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 950 Rockford Rd. SW in Cedar Rapids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Five Seasons Stand Down and Resource Fair helps people who are homeless or near-homeless transition to community living by providing access to human service agencies, including benefits counseling (Social Security and Veterans), employment and training assistance, eye exams, health care screenings, housing services, legal assistance, behavioral health treatment and substance abuse counseling. In addition, Great Clips will be providing haircuts to interested participants. There will be approximately 80 service agencies participating in the 2018 event.
Five Seasons Stand Down is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, the Linn County Board of Supervisors Witwer Trust and by community and corporate donations.
